New vessels

The two new vessels – Spirit of Tasmania IV and Spirit of Tasmania V – will replace the existing vessels operating between Devonport and Geelong and have been built in Finland by Rauma Marina Constructions (RMC).

The new vessels will deliver significant benefit to Tasmania’s visitor economy and the broader Tasmanian economy for many years to come.

Spirit of Tasmania IV is finished and was relocated to Leith, Scotland for temporary storage.

The Tasmanian Government has now instructed TT-Line to continue preparations to relocate the vessel to Tasmania.

Spirit of Tasmania V is expected to be finished in the first half of 2025.
