Network planning and performance

Through network management, we identify, prioritise and provide delivery oversight of transport opportunities across the state. We look to apply best practice transport infrastructure solutions, being open to innovation and new technologies.

We operate the Traffic Management Centre to support daily traffic movements, and emergencies, in the urban areas of Hobart, Launceston, Devonport and Burnie. Our work involves traffic signals, intelligent transport systems, data collection and traffic engineering for the safety of the road network.

We identify and prioritise projects for the state road network, including improvements for bike paths and signage to encourage better mobility for people, goods and freight. These projects are then delivered as funding for capital improvements becomes available.
