Planning permit issued by Kingborough Council on 17 December 2024.
Project Status Update 20 November 2024
Kingborough Council released the development application for public exhibition. The public exhibition period closed on 3 December 2024.
Project Status Update 4 November 2024
Early market engagement was undertaken with the construction industry in October 2024 to inform the market of the main works construction procurement planned to be advertised in Q1 2025.
A public hearing on the project by the Parliamentary Standing Committee for Public Works was held on 7 November 2024 as scheduled.
The project team has continued refined the design of the JackJumpers High Performance Training Centre in consultation with the JackJumpers and Council.
Project Status Update 17 October 2024
The JackJumpers High Performance Training Centre project has been referred to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works inline with the Public Works Committee Act 1914. The hearing will be held on Thursday 7 November 2024.
Project Status Update 23 August 2024
On Sunday 18 August 2024, the Tasmanian Government confirmed the location of the Tasmania JackJumpers High Performance Training Centre at 10 Kingston View Drive, Kingston.
Kingborough Council has approved disposal of land at the Kingborough Sports Precinct for the purpose of construction of a high performance facility for the Tasmania JackJumpers NBL basketball team.
A development application has now been lodged with Kingborough Council.
State Growth is continuing to work with Council towards meeting development application requirements to achieve a planning permit and with the JackJumpers to deliver a new fit-for-for purpose training facility.
Project Status Update 17 July 2024
The Department of State Growth will be undertaking geotechnical investigations at Kingston View Drive, beginning Wednesday 17 July 2024. These investigations are vital for understanding the conditions of the site and the information gathered will help us make informed decisions regarding the final design of the JackJumpers High Performance Training Centre.
